Here’s wishing all my French friends a very Happy Bastille Day.
In years past, I attended the Bastille Day party at the Phillips Collection, which has many fine pieces of French Impressionist art, or wandered down to Pennsylvania Avenue to watch the Waiter races sponsored by Les Halles. Unfortunately, Les Halles didn’t survive this recession, so their fabulous food and waiter races are no longer a part of my July 14 celebrations, and I don’t think the Phillips Collection has a July 14 party any more. I miss the celebrations, but I will instead spend the evening working on revisions.
I am determined that I will not miss the deadline I’ve set for myself to finish revising the first book (of the two I’ve written in this series) within the next few weeks.
