Why don’t you have a blog?
A good friend and fellow fiction writer posed that question to me recently and my answer was the same one I always give – that I haven’t had the time to start one.
That may be partially true, but I set up a blogger account in 2005 with the intention to blog at that time. Four years later, here I am, starting my own blog on my own website. Maybe it is a control issue. Anyway, I’m here now and I’m running with this blog!
My goal here is to comment on things – current events, life events, favorite books, art, or music, technology, dogs, decorating, food, gardening, or anything else that pops into my head.
So, I’ll write on whatever floats my boat and we’ll see where the river takes us. Do not be surprised if, some time in the near future, you see one post on favorite romance novels followed by a long post on women’s rights. I have strong feelings on both subjects, which I’ll share now just to kill the suspense.
I like romance novels, so much so that I sometimes write them, as well as other forms of women’s fiction. I also believe absolutely that we must support women’s equality initiatives everywhere on this planet, including here in the U.S. So, there you go. I’m a liberal women’s rights activist who writes romance novels and sees absolutely nothing incongruous about those two aspects of my life. My romance heroines are sisters doing it for themselves who also enjoy the love of a good man. I also write Young Adult paranormal romance novels with strong “girl power” themes – any girl can find the power within herself to change — or even save — the world.
